Team News | 26.06.2014

Jan Barta defended his title as national champion in the time trial discipline in the Czech town of Slavkov u Brna. The 29-years old rider from Team NetApp – Endura won the race against the clock for the third consecutive time. With 55:38 minutes Barta set the fastest time on the course over 40 kilometers. Barta’s teammate, Leopold Koenig, had to abandon the race after 10km only due to a technical defect.

“Jan raced in a class of his own today. The course was very demanding. Therefore, we required him not to go with full risk because there were some dangerous parts. However Jan rode a very strong race and he has proven once again, that he is able to deliver a top-result in every time trial this season. Today we just saw another confirmation of his form towards the Tour de France. Of course, we are more than happy that Jan defended his champion jersey”, comments Sport Director Enrico Poitschke the victory.
