Blog Blaz Jarc: We raised 12.000 Euro for Zala!

Team Blog | 04.01.2013

First of all a happy and healthy 2013 for all of you.

A couple weeks ago I announced my charity hike and kindly asked for your support to help Zala, the little girl with cerebral palsy living close to my town.

The day of our hike for Zala was one the most beautiful days of my life. Everybody was in a joyful mood and positive energy was felt in the air. There were around 400 people at the event, which was about four times more than we expected, but nevertheless, the more the merrier. In a reasonably good weather for this time of year we hiked towards a cabin. Halfway was a supply station with fruit, cakes and drinks. All the hikers were given a warm meal or a sausage with hot tea and mulled wine. We started a raffle after our refreshment. NetApp jerseys, dvd-s, caps and other things, provided by Team NetApp were the prizes. There was also an auction for a jersey of Team NetApp with the signatures of all the riders and sport directors, which was sold for 200 Euro.

We raised round about 5.000 Euro on the day of the hike and 12.000 Euro in total. That is enough to cover her therapy and other things she requires to improve her life. A great thank you to Zala's and my family, members of Adria Mobil cycling team, the mayor of Mirna Pec, who covered all the expenses regarding food and drinks, Team NetApp and all the generous volunteers and hikers who brought an open heart and a lot of positive energy with them.

Thank you so much.
