Press Releases | 07.02.2013

Team NetApp – Endura has secured an invitation to another WorldTour race in the 2013 season. On April 14, the highest ranked German cycling team will be on the starting line at the Dutch classic Amstel Gold Race. The organizers have invited the team for the first time.

“We applied for the Amstel Gold Race this year quite deliberately. Our achievements last season convinced the organizers, so we got one of the coveted wildcards. We are grateful for their confidence and, as always, will do our best to make this an interesting race,” said Ralph Denk, Team Manager of Team NetApp – Endura.

“In the context of our new signings, we have clearly become stronger for the classics. We really want to show our strengths during the week in the Ardennes. With the Amstel Gold Race we were able to secure one of the three classics we wanted. Participation at Liège-Bastogne-Liège or Flèche Wallonne would be the icing on the cake,” Denk goes on to say.

After the invitations to Tirreno - Adriatico, II Lombardia and Critérium du Dauphiné with the Amstel Gold Race Team NetApp - Endura now has the fourth WorldTour wildcard of the season.

The 48th edition of the Dutch one-day race takes the riders across short but steep hills more than 33 times, covering 251 km, which is typical for the spring classics. The relocated finish of the Amstel Gold Race will be two kilometers after the fabled Cauberg Hill in Valkenburg.
