Team NetApp-Endura names preliminary lineup for the Vuelta a España

Team NetApp-Endura has named 13 riders to its preliminary lineup for the Vuelta a España. On August 24, nine of these selected riders will be at the starting line for the Grand Tour.

The preliminary lineup for the Vuelta a España 2013:

Jan Barta (CZE, 28), Cesare Benedetti (ITA, 26), Iker Camano (ESP, 34), David de la Cruz (ESP, 24), Zak Dempster (AUS, 25), Bartosz Huzarski (POL, 32), Leopold Koenig (CZE, 25), Jose Mendes (POR, 28), Erick Rowsell (GBR, 23), Andreas Schillinger (GER, 30), Daniel Schorn (AUT, 24), Paul Voss (GER, 27), Alex Wetterhall (SWE, 27)

Sport Directors: Enrico Poitschke (GER, 43), Alex Sans Vega (ESP, 37)

This year the Vuelta a España will start with a team time trial in Vilanova de Arousa in northwestern Spain. The tour, which covers 3,319 kilometers, features a very demanding profile. By the finale in Madrid on September 15, the riders must complete another six flat stages, one individual time trial and 13 mountain stages.

The Vuelta a España is the second Grand Tour that the highest ranked German team will tackle. Last year at the Giro d’Italia the team pulled off two podium finishes and several top ten finishes, impressing with its active riding style.
